Jamaica's first Monkeypox patient has made a full recovery from the virus according to reports.

The unidentified male, who was confirmed to have the virus on July 6, after travelling from the United Kingdom, was officially released two days ago from the health facility where he was quarantined. His relatives are still being monitored by health officials.

The acting Regional Director of the Southern Regional Health Authority, Dr Bradley Edwards, per Irie FM, stated that they have tested one of the ex-patient's family members who developed a rash which initially developed concern. They are currently awaiting the result of the test from the University of the West Indies.

The Islands' second Monkeypox patient remains under quarantine at his home in Clarendon and is expected to make a full recovery after his minor symptoms, scabs on his skin, are gone.
